Description

Similar to H. uninervis but with blunter leaf tips, Halodule pinifolia is commonly found in intertidal areas and shallow subtidal flats around Suyac Island.

Morphology

Very narrow leaves 0.4โ€“1.5 mm wide with blunt tips. Leaves 3โ€“10 cm long.

Habitat

Intertidal and shallow subtidal sandy flats.

Distribution

Indo-Pacific region.

Ecological Role

Pioneer species; food resource for marine herbivores.
